About Children's Ministry
At Zana Community Church, we believe that children are not merely the future of the church—they are a vital part of the covenant community today. From the earliest pages of Scripture, God reveals His heart for families, commanding His people to diligently teach His Word to their children. As it is written in Deuteronomy 6:6–7, “These words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children…” This biblical mandate shapes our vision and practice as we seek to raise a generation that knows, loves, and follows Christ.
Our Children’s Ministry is intentionally structured to care for and disciple children at different stages of development. We have a Toddlers Class, where little ones are gently introduced to God’s truth through simple Bible stories, songs, and loving care. As children grow, they move into our Middle Years Classes, where they begin to engage more deeply with the storyline of Scripture, learning foundational truths about God, sin, salvation, and obedience. Our Teens Sunday School provides a space for older children to wrestle thoughtfully with Scripture, apply biblical truth to everyday life, and grow in their understanding of the gospel.
Children at Church
At the heart of our ministry is a commitment to teaching the whole counsel of God in a way that is faithful, clear, and age-appropriate. We teach from the great themes of Scripture—from the Shema in Deuteronomy 6, to the moral law in Exodus 20, and the saving work of Christ revealed throughout the Bible. Our children learn not only Bible stories, but also how those stories point to Christ and fit within God’s redemptive plan.
We also incorporate joyful and memorable forms of learning. Children sing songs such as the ABC Bible songs, helping them hide God’s Word in their hearts. They are introduced to the Shorter Catechism, where they begin to grasp essential truths about God, humanity, sin, and salvation. In this way, we are not merely entertaining children—we are grounding them in sound doctrine and shaping their minds and hearts for lifelong faith.
Ministry Impact
Our aim is not simply to inform, but to form—to see children grow in the knowledge of God, the love of Christ, and obedience to His Word. We labour, by God’s grace, to partner with parents in raising covenant children who will stand firm in the truth, resist the pressures of the world, and live for the glory of God.
As the Lord declares in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” This promise encourages us as we faithfully sow the seeds of the gospel, trusting God to bring growth in His time.
At Zana Community Church, our prayer and commitment is to see a generation raised—not for the world, but for Christ.
